Here is a child who suddenly has a father and a family. What choice will the child make in the face of the hidden truth? A crude but moving movie is coming.
The movie ‘Children for Children’ (Director Seung-hwan Lee) tells the story of a father appearing in front of Do-yoon (Hyun Woo-seok), who is regarding to leave the orphanage, following 15 years.
Seung-won (Jung Woong-in) suddenly comes to Do-yun, who is soon to become an adult and is regarding to leave the orphanage.
Doyun refuses, but accidentally enters his father’s house. Doyun gradually adjusts to his father Seungwon and his younger brother Jaemin (Park Sanghoon) as they get awkward and quarrel with each other. When his father Seung-won dies, Do-yoon discovers the hidden truth in the process of finding death insurance.
Director Lee Seung-hwan previously said, “When children become interested in children who have ended protection and when it comes time for them to become independent, realistic choices are important, but more choices will come in the future. I thought it would be better if I started the standard with myself. Realistic support is also needed, but I decided to prepare this work thinking that it is not the responsibility of adults to create an environment where I can increase my options in various aspects regarding what I personally like and want.”
As the director said, the film is regarding children who have ended protection and alternative families. The father suddenly visits the child who has gone out alone, and it contains the meaning of the child’s growth and family in the process of becoming her family. The face of Seungwon, who struggles to find the real me and is confused in front of the truth, makes me think a lot.
You may think that the title or subject matter is heavy, but it is not sad or heavy. sometimes makes me laugh It’s a bit rough and rough, but time passes quickly if you follow Seungwon’s gaze and think and cheer together.
Hyun Woo-seok, who took on the first screen lead role, does his best. The fresh but charming Hyun Woo-suk’s hot performance adds to the immersion. Hyun Woo-seok and Park Sung-hoon’s tiki-taka are not bad either. The stable acting of Jung Woong-in and Gil Hae-yeon takes center stage. Opening on the 21st. Audience over 12 years old. Running time 96 minutes
