The company dand transport Las Grutas -which provides intercity services between Bariloche and Dina Huapi, and in San Antonio and Las Grutas- warned the provincial government that the delay and cut in the compensation it receives from Nación prevent you from covering your costs and might put compliance at risk with the salaries of its 100 employees.

One of the owners of the company, Héctor Castro, assured that up to now they have kept payments on time and the relationship with the UTA union is “excellent”, but warned that the periodic increases agreed in parities do not correspond to an equivalent adjustment in the subsidies.

Said receive the contributions from the Ministry of Transportation of the Nation with a notorious delaysince a few days ago they collected April and owe them the compensations for May and June. He also pointed out that in the monthly installments for March and April they suffered a cut “over 50%” in the shipment of the Nation, “without any parameter.”

At his request, Castro held a meeting in Viedma with Labor Minister Jorge Stopiello and Transportation Secretary Juan Ciancaglini to address the situation. According to the owner of Las Grutas, payment of wages is equivalent to 65% of income for them. He said that the company “is decapitalized” and cannot renew units with the current economic equation. “Service is at risk”said the businessman.

Las Grutas is in charge of the lines that join the towns of San Antonio with Las Grutas, San Antonio with the port of SAE and Bariloche with Dina Huapi, for which it receives national contributions.

Castro said that the same crisis affects urban transportation throughout the country and has no solution in sight, because the Nation maintains 90% of its mass of subsidies concentrated in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, “and with the provinces sign agreements that were first for four months, now for two months and do not allow for any predictability”.

He explained that in October they added two zero kilometer buses at a cost of 60 million pesos and since then “the price has doubled”, so that it is now almost impossible for them to think regarding renewing units.

“We pay the salaries, with the new scale, that is out of the question. And so far we meet the dates. But we have this problem, because the service is deteriorating,” said the manager.

He insisted that the same situation of anxiety is repeated throughout the country and both companies and their workers have “a very great uncertainty.”

The Ministry of Labor and also the area of Transport of the province committed themselves “to take steps before the national organizations with the aim of unlocking the situation”, as reported officially.
