Kochi: A car which was running on the bypass got burnt near Chakaraparam. As soon as smoke rose from inside the bonnet, the service took the vehicle to the road and stopped the vehicle.
Sivapalan, a native of Madurai, his wife and two children were in the vehicle. They say that they felt a strong smell of petrol while running. After seeing the smoke, the vehicle stopped and was fully engulfed in flames within a few seconds. By the time the fire brigade arrived following getting the information, the vehicle was on fire. Two fire rescue units each from Thrikkakara and Gandhi Nagar arrived and doused the fire.
