The general education high school in Diourbel (Ndayane) was shaken by an unprecedented event. Indeed, an unfortunate candidate for the baccalaureate 2023 tried to commit suicide, with a knife.
It all started when AM Ndiaye received a message from the Office du Bac informing him of his failure. Disappointed, the 19-year-old candidate broke into the high school canteen and took a knife to end his life.

If the landlady had not intervened quickly, AM Ndiaye would probably have ended her life, according to information from Seneweb. Eventually he was injured but survived. The school canteen manager, MD, was also slightly injured in the incident. Both were taken to hospital, but AM Ndiaye’s life is not in danger.
The head of the Diourbel central police station was informed of the incident on Monday morning around 11 a.m. Commissioner Mor Ngom’s men immediately went to the scene and opened an investigation.
