A bus band prohibits the passage … of a bus: the alderwoman for mobility reacts after a viral photo

Chaussée de Louvain has recently been refurbished. However, a flagging issue has been raised by a Facebook group. On the social network, Jean-Marc Wanson, one of the members of the group, tried to explain the problem. “If we apply the highway code, all drivers must take the red band where it says “BUS”… except buses. Am I wrong or not? For those who don’t know Namur, it’s the new development of the Chaussée de Louvain”he commented.

Contacted by our colleagues from the Future, Stéphanie Scailquin (Les Engagés), the alderwoman for mobility wanted to explain this comical situation. “It is the TECs who are in charge of the signage for the bus areas. In this case, it is the old “except bus” signs which have not yet been removed. This should be corrected quickly.”

A small error which gives us a nice photo… but which will not have any consequences for the residents!
