The amendments propose to allow the State Labor Inspectorate (VDI) to temporarily remove a temporary employment company from the list of such companies. Such a sanction would be applied if VDI is found to no longer comply with the requirements for such companies, for example, it does not provide performance reports.
Rūta Juršaitė, senior advisor of the Labor Law Group of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor, said during the amendment hearing in the Social Affairs and Labor Committee of the Seimas that they would be added back to the list no earlier than six months later.
“To be disciplined so that companies are not interested in committing violations,” said the representative of the ministry.
There are now 350 temporary employment agencies.
VDI Chancellor Šarūnas Orlavičius reported that 10-30 companies are removed from the list per month.
When a company goes bankrupt, redundant workers are offered long-term benefits based on their length of service at one location. This would require 2.13 million in next year’s budget. euros.
As R. Juršaitė said, such a payment has not been paid until now. It was received by long-term employees when they were dismissed by the employer on their own initiative through no fault of their own.
The Seimas will also consider changes that will allow “Sodra” to be informed about employed managers within an hour, and it is proposed to pay at least 2.5 times the employee’s salary for overtime on the night of the holidays.
It is now mandatory to notify “Sodra” about the conclusion of an employment contract and the hiring of an employee at least one working day before the scheduled start of work, and the payment for overtime work on the night of holidays is not discussed.
