In a surprising move, the United States apparently refused to grant a travel visa toMiss British to participate in a global competition, because of the place of her birth!
Lynn Clive, aged 29, revealed that her family obtained a visa to visit Las Vegas, while her visa was refused because she was born in Damascus, according to the BBC.
Clive was scheduled to participate in the 35th annual Mrs World event on January 15, along with 57 other contestants.

In addition, the charming young woman said that she applied for the visa with a British passport, stressing that she represents Britain and that she is a British citizen, noting that she did not think for a while that she might be banned from entering the United States.

She added that visas were granted to her husband and child, while her visa was refused, pointing out that the only difference is the place of her birth.
Clive, a medical trainee, appealed to the US Embassy in London to grant her a visa in time to attend the competition. She stressed that she is still optimistic, although time is running out, noting that things might be different if someone from the embassy was able to consider her request.
secret records
For their part, US officials said in a statement that visa records are confidential under US law, and therefore details of individual visa cases cannot be discussed.
The US government announced on its website that applicants who are nationals of countries that use state-sponsored terrorism should be interrogated by a consular official, with Syria identified as one of those countries.
