As is known, KAMAZ is a participant in the project to revive the Moskvich brand. Kama Automobile Plant has a 50% stake in the company that owns this brand. In this regard, it cannot be ruled out that KamAZ will eventually not launch its own crossovers into production. Moreover, now the project participants will not be able to load all the capacities of the Moscow Automobile Plant.
The domestic designer announced the publication of a series of renders that reveal the appearance of a potential crossover KamAZ-43118 2022-2023. In his opinion, this model will be a compact car. That is, if such a project is implemented, the new KamAZ crossover will be presented in the same segment as those who left Russia. Volkswagen Taos и Skoda Karoq. However, the Russian model will be noticeably different from its counterparts, primarily in that it has a higher ground clearance. This means that the KamAZ crossover will be better prepared for Russian off-road.
But it is not yet clear what technical part such a car can get. To create a full-fledged crossover, KamAZ will have to attract a third-party company.
