a bracelet finally complete with GPS

A new connected bracelet joins the Xiaomi catalog. The Smart Band 7 Pro is distinguished by a larger screen and above all, by its GPS module which makes it independent of a smartphone to follow its route.

The big back-to-school conference that Xiaomi organized on October 4 in Munich was an opportunity for the Chinese giant to unveil a number of tech products such as the 12T and 12 T Pro smartphones, the new True Wireless Redmi Buds headphones, televisions, robot vacuum cleaners, a tablet but also a newcomer to the activity bracelets category. The Smart Band 7 Pro is thus placed a notch above the Smart Band 7 released at the beginning of the summer. Here, the bracelet is a little closer to a watch. It sports a large rectangular screen of 1.64 inches – with an AMOLED panel with a definition of 280 x 456 pixels – where its little brother is content with a 1.62 inch display. . Added to this is a sensor to automatically adjust the intensity of the screen light according to the lighting environment.

Xiaomi Smart Band 7 Pro: an integrated GPS

But the big difference with the previous model is the presence of a chip GPS, a first for the brand’s connected bracelets. Practical, it allows you not to take your smartphone with you during a jogging session, for example. The bracelet is thus responsible for noting the route taken which it synchronizes with the mobile once it is again connected with it. The presence of a GPS chip (compatible Galileo, Glonass and QZSS) also allows more precise tracking of movements.

Also for athletes, the bracelet is equipped with traditional heart rate sensors and measurement of the oxygen level in the blood (SpO2) The device also offers 110 sports modes to cover a wide range of physical activities and even swimming with its 5 ATM water resistance (50 meters deep). Its design allows it a priori to be quite resistant with a plastic case and metal edges.
