A ten year old boy riding a bicycle in the city of Florida He died this Saturday following being hit by a truck.
As reported by the Ministry of the Interior, the crash happened around 8:20 last Friday at the intersection of Pocho Fernández and Avenida Aparicio Saravia streets.
According to police information, the truck was driving through Pocho Fernández and turned to the right taking Aparicio Saravia at the traffic light. As he turned, he hit the boy, who was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk in the same direction and was trying to cross the avenue.
The truck, a Mercedes brand, was driven by a 35-year-old man who was accompanied by another 18-year-old.
Personnel from the Scientific Police Department arrived at the scene and the child was transferred by ambulance to the CTI of the Sanatorium in the city of Canelones, where he died on Saturday morning.
The 2nd Shift Prosecutor’s Office continues to work on the homicide.
