A Boucheron ring at Besch

2023-12-29 12:49:00

The diamond mounted on this Boucheron ring is neutral of all gases and carbon is its only dominant, giving it exceptional transparency.

If the exceptional diamond which adorns this ring has a D color, of Internally Flawless purity, it also has a Type IIA chemical composition, extremely rare (only 2% are Type IIA), confirmed by the GIA laboratory in New York. The Type II composition means that the diamond does not contain nitrogen and the “A” means that it is also without the presence of Boron. In other words, the diamond offered here is neutral of all gases and carbon is its only dominant, giving it exceptional transparency. These stones are often diamonds from the ancient mines of Golconda in India, which have now dried up. This did not escape Boucheron, the first jeweler to set up on Place Vendôme. After an emerald cut, typical of the famous house, the 5.13 carat stone was mounted as a ring on platinum and supported by two trapezoid diamonds, all forming a magnificent ring.

Estimate between 220,000 and 320,000 euros.

Besch, Hôtel Martinez in Cannes, December 31, 2023.
