a boosted version to be even more professional

The Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro (12.4 inches) was presented in China by Lei Jun, boss of Xiaomi. This is a new tablet focused on professional uses. And it offers a few improvements over the 11-inch Pro model.

Lei Jun, boss of Xiaomi, held a major conference in China. If part of the event was mainly used to share anecdotes regarding his personal life, the businessman also presented various products. The star was the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2but let’s not forget the new tablet either: a Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro (12.4″).

As its name suggests, this new tablet is aimed at the Pro, but stands out with a larger screen than the previous Pad 5 Pro. 12.4 inches, therefore, instead of 11 inches. Note that the LCD panel also offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz for a definition ” 2,5 K » of 2560 x 1600 pixels, HDR 10 and Dolby Vision compatibility with an announced peak brightness of 500 nits.

67W charging and 20MP front sensor

The chip inside remains a Snapdragon 870 and it is paired with LPDDR 5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The 10000 mAh battery recharges with a maximum power at 67 W via un port USB 3.2 Gen 1. No change compared to the other Pro model on the main sensor on the back. We stay on a definition of 50 megapixels. On the other hand, at the front, for videoconferences, we go to a 20 megapixel camera.

On the interface side, we are dealing with the MIUI Pad 13 home interface which offers a taskbar and options that facilitate screen partitioning to use two applications at the same time. You can also use the tablet as a secondary screen on your PC.

Accessories (keyboard, shell, stylus) are provided to accompany this tablet.

An aggressive price for the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro (12.4″)

The Xiaomi Pad Pro (12.4″) comes in three configurations:

  • 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage ;
  • 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage ;
  • 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.

These versions are respectively announced at 2999, 3499 and 4199 yuan, or approximately 430, 501 and 602 euros excluding taxes. It remains to be seen whether this tablet will see the light of day in France or not. France has so far only been entitled to Xiaomi Pad 5 classic.
