Sports media have suggested that British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe wants to buy Manchester United.
This follows a report in Bloomberg that the Glazer family wants to sell a minority stake in the club.
A spokesman for Ratcliffe was quoted by The Times as saying that “if the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a buy-out… If something like that is on the table, we are interested in looking at long-term ownership.”
Manchester United are at the bottom of the Premier League standings, following losing their first two matches of the new season under the leadership of new coach Eric Ten Hag.
This troubled start for the club sparked criticism directed at the Glazer family over investing in the club, which had previously won the English Premier League 20 times.
