According to witnesses, the facts occurred around 2:30 p.m.; they say they heard several shots and saw a man fall in front of the old horse butcher’s shop, which has now become the Boucherie Leuzoise. As the mayor of the bonnetière city, Lucien Rawart, confirmed to us, the shooter was traveling on a motorcycle. The first magistrate of Leuz, however, knew little more in the evening regarding the more precise sequence of events; investigations are still ongoing.
According to the observations of certain witnesses once more, the biker and a young man of foreign origin would have discussed briefly before the first pointed a revolver towards the second and fired four times. The victim, who we learned that she would be from the Middle East and that she was from the CPAS in Leuze, was notably injured in one hand and in the thorax.
She was taken care of fairly quickly by the emergency service to be evacuated to the CHwapi in a condition deemed very serious.
The police also intervened in large numbers on the ground and padlocked an area including in particular rue du Gard and the junctions with rue d’Ath and rue Tour Saint-Pierre.
A device that was still in place when classes left, which caused some traffic jams. It was nevertheless lifted fairly quickly because, around 4 p.m., the tracks were once once more open to traffic.
For now, investigators are actively looking for the biker who may have been filmed by surveillance cameras along his route. We do not know if he acted impulsively following the conversation with the young man or if his action was part of a settling of scores.
