The operator is preparing to offer a new decoder.
According to the future, Proximus will soon be offering a new decoder to its customers. This new model would be introduced in 2024 on the market. A few new things would be on the program.
The main difference with the current model concerns the connectivity of the device. For the first time, Proximus would indeed offer a model that would connect via wifi, instead of a wired connection. A small change that would have big repercussions on use since in practice, this will allow you to position your decoder at a good distance from the router since you will no longer need a cable to connect them. Admittedly, it was possible to do this using repeaters, but this involved additional costs for the customer.
The novelties would not stop there since the device would also be less energy-intensive and made with recycled materials. However, we should not expect a big revolution since the model in question would be called the V7c. In other words, it would be an evolution. On the operating system side, we would find as on the previous Android TV model.
Still according to L’Avenir, another decoder model is already in development at Proximus. A model that might this time bring bigger new features for customers…
