The pilot project is currently underway in a number of municipalities, where it has been well received.
“It is going according to plan and people are enthusiastic,” according to Veerle Van Mierlo. The pilot project, which was originally scheduled to last until April 15, has therefore been extended. This extension should allow a more in-depth analysis of the reasons why the parcels are delivered via the postman. “The intention is then to roll out the project nationally this year. This will be done at the earliest from the third quarter”, concludes the bpost spokesperson.
Bpost announced in February the launch of this pilot project in certain municipalities in the three regions of the country. Delivering a package is only possible if the postman must already be at the customer for a package. It is also not possible to deposit a parcel in a letterbox.
