A Belgian in the final of the International Competition for Opera Conductors of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie

Giulio Cilona, ​​the American-Belgian conductor, reached the final of the International Competition for Opera Conductors organized by the Royal Opera of Wallonia. At his side, this Sunday, August 21, we will find the Peruvian chef Dayner Tafur Diaz and the Chilean chef Luis Toro Araya.

After three intense days of competition, three conductors have been selected for the final of the International Competition for Opera Conductors which will take place this Sunday August 21 at 5 p.m. at the Salle Philharmonique de Liège. They were 24 this Wednesday, they are now three, the chefs Luis Toro Araya, Chilean, Dayner Tafur Diaz, Peruvian, and finally the American-Belgian chef Giulio Cilona.

For this final, Luis Toro Araya will direct 30 minutes of Act 2 of La Bohème, Dayney Tafur Diaz 30 minutes of l’acte 1 ofs Pêcheurs de perles et Giulio Cilona, ​​30 minutes from act 2 of La Traviata.

The first winner will win the sum of €10,000, as well as an invitation to conduct a production at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège. The second winner will receive a prize of €4,000 and an invitation to conduct a production for young audiences at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège and finally, the third winner will win €2,000 as well as a contract as an assistant musical director on a production at the Royal Opera of Wallonia-Liège.
