Thanks to its innovative approach and its strict approach to carbon neutrality, Écoboeuf Inc. has received the Environmental Stewardship Award – Quebec, which recognizes the leadership of beef cattle producers in conservation.
The announcement was made on the sidelines of the annual general meeting of cattle producers in Quebec on March 26, 2024. Jury members praised the “approach to sustainable beef production and the innovative ideas” of the company located in Dupuy in Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
Founded in 2019 by Frédérique Lavallée and Simon Lafontaine, Écoboeuf inc. puts forward innovative approaches that aim to limit its greenhouse gas emissions as much as possible. By feeding the steers exclusively on grass, the company significantly reduces the use of machinery and inputs. It also stands out for its agroforestry projects and its pasture management, thereby helping to minimize its environmental impact while improving soil health.
