A “beating heart” in space… a mysterious frequency that baffles scientists

A new frequency from deep space intrigued scientists after they picked up a sound resembling a heartbeat.

These frequencies are called “fast radio burst” or “FRD” for short.

The site mentionedSciencealertThe recently captured sound, dubbed 20191221A, is not at all fast, although its duration does not exceed three seconds, but it is a thousand times longer than other streams.

And the remote sensing device, “CHIME”, was able to pick up the frequency in December 2019, so scientists immediately realized that they had discovered something very strange.

The FRD phenomenon is one of the most exciting astronomical phenomena, as radio radiation rushes enormously from the intergalactic space.

The scientific site indicates that during a period of time that does not exceed fractions of a second, this phenomenon releases an energy equal to 500 million stars like our sun.

It is not usual to pick up successive “FRD” waves, as they usually constitute a single frequency that lasts for fractions of a second, and a telescope directed in the right direction depends on capturing it, that is, by chance.

But that was before the use of telescopes covering wider areas, such as “CHIME”, which contributed to the discovery of this triple wave in 2019.

And the latest wave was revealed in a study published, Wednesday, in the journal “”NatureScientific.

A scientist in the field of astrophysics said in The Kavli Institute of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology MIT said that the discovery was “unusual,” and added, “Not only was it (the frequency) long, but there were very specific peaks, coming out in every millisecond, boom boom bok, like a heartbeat, this is the first time that it’s been The wave has a frequency in this way.
