According to the rescuers, he is now outside the residential part of the city in the forest, where rescue forces are trying to capture him together with hunters. “Based on a call to the press line, we sent two ambulances to the center of the city, where the bear is supposed to be moving. Two slightly injured and conscious people have been reported. One of them was injured following a collision with a bear. Firefighters, police, and a bear response team are on the scene Brown and the Slovak Hunting Association,” the Slovak rescue service said.

Paramedics later said they treated and then transported a 49-year-old woman with a shoulder injury and a 72-year-old man with an open head wound to the hospital.

The spokeswoman for Liptovský Mikuláš Čapčíková stated that Mayor Ján Blcháč has been demanding proactive interventions from the Ministry of the Environment and the establishment of an intervention team for a long time. This is not the first occurrence of a bear in the vicinity of Liptovský Mikuláš. On Friday, rescuers reported a bear attack on two people near Mount Siná. The man managed to escape, but the woman did not survive, according to rescuers. From the available information, it is not clear whether the bear attacked directly, or whether it fell in the mountainous terrain while escaping.
