Honor Mode is the hardest way to play Baldur’s Gate 3. However, one player found a way to cheat in Honor Mode, and opinions on this are mixed.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is quite a difficult game, especially if you are a new player. However, if you decide to play Honor Mode, you face the toughest challenge in the game.

In this mode, you are only allowed one death. This is because once your party dies, the save is deleted. Therefore, if you manage to complete all the content in this mode, you deserve the greatest respect. However, one player managed to find a flaw in this mode that sparked a debate in the community.

Debate over using Rifts to complete Honor Mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 Community

The discussion on this topic was started by the player at/jcarney231 on Reddit. He stated : ” I’ve seen discussions regarding the amazing ways people have died in Honor Mode and I was wondering if I’m the only one cheating? I play with 3 members of the group and leave the 4th in a safe place ».

He continued: “ If the other 3 die, you can simply resurrect them all at camp. I’m constantly going back and forth between a character with max persuasion who is standing right next to an NPC and a Druid who only knows Good Bay “. This method is not a direct cheat since the player does not use any third-party software. However, the community is not sure that this way of playing Honor mode is fair.

A player opposed to this idea said: “ Maybe not cheating, but it takes away the honor from Honor Mode.”. Another user added: “ You literally have unlimited lives this way. “It’s only 3 people” No, it’s an infinite number of people lol. Everyone plays in their own way, but claiming that with 3 it’s more difficult is a joke ».

However, other players were not bothered by the method used by the author of the post. One user commented: “ I didn’t do this, but I don’t consider what you’re doing to be cheating “. Finally, a player with a similar ideology claimed: “ I wouldn’t call it cheating unless there was deliberate exploitation of a bug. If you have fun running with three group members while someone stays at camp or in town, why not? ».

We can therefore say that the community is divided. It should be noted, however, that most players were completely in agreement with this way of playing. Indeed, even if the author of the post had several lives in Honor mode, they were playing with a group of three, which reduces their overall strength.
