Since the beginning of July, fuel prices have continued to rise and are almost two euros per litre. A new increase synonymous with bad news for the drivers met in a Parisian service station.

Fuels have experienced a further increase in their prices since the beginning of July. +11 cents on average for unleaded, +14 cents for diesel. An increase which is mainly explained by the oil production restrictions decided by Saudi Arabia and Russia. A bad surprise at the pump in the middle of summer, as Europe 1 might see in a Parisian service station.

Regulate your speed to save money

Jean-Pierre has been riding a motorcycle for 40 years. For him, it is impossible to do without it, so much so that he no longer even pays attention to the price. “I had absolutely not looked at the price of petrol. I had an idea, around two euros but when you travel on two wheels, you have no choice because you have a very reduced autonomy. , you can’t have fun comparing the stations”, he judges at the microphone of Europe 1.

It is more complicated, however, for Sédan, a Parisian restaurateur, who has to use his car to run his establishment. “It increases all the time. The drop before the summer was a publicity stunt,” he says. Others are developing small schemes to pay less like Diallo, met by Europe 1 who regulates his speed. A trick that saves up to 15% fuel.
