A 92-year-old woman enrolled in the school

An elderly woman from Chawli, a village in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, enrolled in primary school and started her studies.

According to Indian media reports, the woman’s name is Salima Khan, who surprised everyone by enrolling in the school. She has been studying for the last 6 months.

Salima Khan is worried regarding herself that she is studying at this age. “I can sign my name and that’s what’s important to me,” she says.

According to reports, the headmaster of the primary school, Dr. Pratibha Sharma, says that Salima Khan came to us 8 months ago, she requested us to allow her to sit and study in the class.

Dr. Pratibha Sharma said, “Educating the elderly is a difficult task, so we were a little hesitant at first, but when we felt the passion to study at Salima Khan, we had to admit them.”

According to Dr. Pratibha Sharma, seeing Salima Khan’s enthusiasm, 25 other women of the village also enrolled in the school, now we have started a separate class for them.

According to media reports, Salima Khan was married at the age of 14 while there was no school in her village due to which she was deprived of education.

Salima Khan expressed her thoughts that when the headmaster gave me the book, my hands were shaking because I did not even know how to hold a pen.

On social media, the video of Salima Khan sitting with the children in the class and learning is being liked a lot.
