A 79-year-old motorist had a lot of luck on Sunday evening between Salavaux and Avenches. She was only slightly injured following going off the road and several rollovers which forced the firefighters to extricate her from the vehicle.
Around 9.30 p.m., the septuagenarian living in the canton of Bern, who had a blood alcohol level of 1.1 per thousand, suddenly lost control of her vehicle which swerved to the left side of the road before hitting a temporary sign and to continue in the grassy strip. The car then left the road, rolling several times to end its race in the field, located regarding ten meters below.
Rescuers transported the motorist, slightly injured, to the cantonal hospital of Fribourg, said Monday cantonal cantonal police. Following the alcohol test, the driver will be reported to the Public Prosecutor.
