China registered a 6.9 earthquake today in the western province of Qinghai which at the moment has left no fatalities, reports the official press. The tremor occurred at 1:45 a.m. local time (5:45 p.m. GMT on Friday) in an area of ”sparse population” more than 3,600 meters above sea level, with an epicenter 10 kilometers deep.
