A strong earthquake struck southeastern Turkey today, Thursday, in the same area that was devastated by earthquakes in early February.
The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) said that the epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale, was in Kahramanmaraş province, just like previous earthquakes.
A correspondent for the German News Agency (DPA) in the city of Gaziantep said that he felt strong tremors.
Two devastating earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 7.6 on the Richter scale struck on February 6 in southeastern Turkey and northern Syria.
The two earthquakes killed about 57,000 people and displaced millions.
