Flyover is a video recap of an activity, as if it had been filmed from an aerial view, and gives Strava subscribers a different look at what they accomplished.

This new feature begins with a zoom on the route, Flyover then displays Strava’s characteristic orange line which traces the athlete’s journey throughout the activity. Rollovers are available for all GPS activities on the subscriber’s profile, including past activities.

How to access the Overviews?

Strava users can access Overviews by tapping on an activity’s map to open a detailed map screen. From there, just click the Flyover button in the bottom right corner and the video will start. Currently available on Android devices, the Hover feature will be available on all iOS devices by the end of the year.

This new feature is the latest integration of FATMAP mapping technology into the Strava platform. Since acquiring the adventure platform earlier this year, Strava has rolled out additional features for athletes, such as 3D winter maps, map and route creation, Custom waypoints, route details and photos via the online route creator.

Now supporting 45 different activity types, the platform continues to expand subscriber benefits like ski area mapping, injury prevention content from Recover Athletics, Beacon safety tracking, route recommendations , an online itinerary creator, the World Activity Map and Personal Activity Maps, or the Segment ranking.
