As we explained to you on Tuesday, Hubert Engelborghs, an 84-year-old farmer, made a chilling discovery in a field on Monday morning in Rutten (Tongres).
While he wanted to “check a pole”, he indeed came across a lifeless body. It was that of a thirty-year-old. “About six meters from the man was a metal detector and a shovel driven into the ground,” he recalls.
Three days following the discovery of the body, we learn that the victim, a thirty-something from Tessenderlo, in Limburg, was shot dead. The police also made an arrest on Wednesday. Indeed, as Het Nieuwsblad explains, a Campinois was arrested.
The victim’s car was found a little further away. The circumstances surrounding this death remain unclear.
