In the context of 2,654 checks carried out on the road network of Attica, 5 people were arrested for driving license deprivation, a total of 805 violations were confirmed, of which indicatively 42 for drunkenness, 34 for excessive speed, 25 for dangerous maneuvers and 13 for traffic lights.
It should be noted that additionally arrested were:
3 citizens, aged 28, 30 and 41, car drivers, accused of dangerous driving.
Specifically, the above were caught driving dangerously along L. Vouliagmeni from the area of Voula to Glyfada, carrying out impromptu races, with continuous maneuvers, endangering the rest of the road users and causing terror and concern.
Administrative fines of a total of 18,300 euros were imposed on the drivers of the vehicles, the traffic data of each vehicle and the driving license of each driver were removed, while due to completion of the requirements stipulated by the driver behavior control system (S.E.S.O.) points, their driving licenses will be re-issued after training and re-examination.

55-year-old local taxi driver, for collecting fees beyond the legal limit. In particular, the defendant was spotted at the Port of Piraeus, collecting a fare higher than the legal one, diligently covering the taximeter of his vehicle.
38-year-old citizen, truck driver, who had deliberately interfered with the tachograph device of his vehicle, in order to alter the recorded data.
In particular, as it was established that the 38-year-old, who was located in the area of Aegaleo, had placed a magnet on the vehicle’s motion sensor so that it did not record its activity, as well as to deactivate both the truck’s speed limiter and the brake assist system , making the movement of the vehicle dangerous for the safety of other road users.
The prescribed administrative sanctions were imposed on the owner and driver of the truck, the traffic information was removed, as well as the aforementioned magnet.
The arrested, with the files filed against them, were taken to the competent Prosecutor.
The controls of the Attica Traffic Directorate to reinforce a sense of security among the traveling citizens will continue.
