Shortly before noon on Saturday, a 16-year-old girl riding a scooter was hit on the N60 in Oudenaarde. She was driving once morest the flow of traffic and wanted to cross the roadway, which consists of a double lane.
A third vehicle, approaching in the second lane, might not see her and grabbed her. The driver is a 70-year-old man from Saint-Nicolas. He was not intoxicated, the saliva and alcohol tests are negative.
There were witnesses and the causes of the accident are clear. The prosecution has not appointed a traffic expert. The girl was seriously injured and taken to hospital.
