A 13-year-old teenager injured two students and a teacher before being pinned down by a school cleaner. One of the injured girls suffered cuts to at least three parts of her body. A 13-year-old teenager attacked students and teachers with a knife this Tuesday morning (8) at a state school in Santa Tereza de Goiás. According to the Civil Police, the attacker is a student at the teaching unit and was restrained by a school cleaner before causing further damage.
The attack took place at Colégio Estadual Doutor Marco Aurélio, around 8 am. The father of one of the injured students said his daughter had injuries to her back, face and hand.
Several materials were seized from the author, such as a hatchet, knife, bombs, masks and other items. In a note, the Municipal Social Assistance Secretariat of Santa Tereza de Goiás regretted the episode of violence that occurred. “We communicate that due to what happened, activities will be suspended from the 11th to the 14/04th.”
The Public Security Secretariat of Goiás said that the victims were immediately rescued and their state of health is regular, without serious injuries.
This was the third attack on Brazilian schools in the last 15 days. On March 27, a 13-year-old teenager killed a teacher and injured others at the Thomazia Montoro School in São Paulo. On April 5th, a man killed 4 children in a day care center in Blumenau (SC).
