A 12-year-old boy was murdered in the hotel zone of Cancun

QUINTANA ROO.- In the middle of the holiday period, a minor was murdered while enjoying the beach in the company of his family.

Santiago, 12 years old, He was shot when he was enjoying himself with his family in Caracol Beachin front of the Riu Cancun hotel.

The events took place at around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Sunday.

According to reports, the minor was in with his family when armed men aboard jet skis fired in the direction where he was.

One of those bullets hit the teenager in the chest; after what happened, his parents rushed him to the hospital. However, the minor died in an IMSS clinic in Cobá, Quintana Roo.

Authorities reported that the affected family is of Mexican nationality and lives in the municipality of Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo.

Prosecutors investigate the murder of a child in Cancun

The State Attorney General’s Office reported that it has opened an investigation file for the crime of aggravated homicide against a minor.
