A 100% electric sports car also at Mercedes-AMG

Recently, the German manufacturer BMW formalized the upcoming launch of an SUV, the BMW XM, developed by the “Motorsport” sports division. On the side of compatriot Mercedes, the sports branch has been embodied for some years now by the AMG division. A preparer for the less emblematic, which became a subsidiary of Mercedes in 1999, and which took pleasure in revisiting many models of the German brand, and increasing (often very considerably) their performance.

The electric also on the side of AMG

Of course, like many other manufacturers, Mercedes has begun its electric transition, with the firm ambition of becoming 100% electric by 2030. We might then legitimately wonder regarding the future of AMG, more fond of naturally aspirated engines with a unique sound than zero-emission engines. Today, the manufacturer indicates that the AMG division will be there, with a first 100% electric model, equipped with the AMG badge, planned for 2025.

Mercedes takes the opportunity to unveil an amazing concept, called Vision AMG. A four-door coupe with an ultra-sporty silhouette, whose aerodynamics have obviously been designed to boost the autonomy of this 100% electric model. Formula 1 enthusiasts will also be delighted to find certain aesthetic details directly taken from the single-seaters currently driven by Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Mercedes takes the opportunity to remind you that the brand is preparing four new platforms designed for electromobility, one of which will be dedicated to the AMG division, and called AMG.EA. In terms of looks, this Vision AMG is distinguished by its necessarily original grille, with a light signature that takes up the brand’s star logo.

It should be remembered that Mercedes is very committed to the electromobility segment, the manufacturer having notably succeeded in travel more than 1000 km with his Vision EQXX, on a single charge. A vehicle which has a solar roof, with 117 solar cells which supply the 12-volt battery, in particular to animate certain auxiliary consumers such as the navigation system.
