Brett was a radiant and vibrant 15-year-old. He loved life and was always up for an adventure.We were renting a holiday home in Mojácar for the summer, a place we all loved as a family. Brett was excited to spend his days swimming in the sun and exploring the local area.
It was a horrific day. We received a call saying Brett had been found unresponsive in his room. The immediate explanation was a pulmonary embolism. While it was a shock, we trusted the medical professionals. However, something felt deeply wrong.
What sparked your suspicion that his death was not what it seemed?
Just hours after Brett was pronounced dead, I got a call on his phone. It was being switched on and off, moving locations. It was like someone was trying to throw off any inquiry.Then, neighbours came forward saying they had seen men fleeing Brett’s room the night he died.
What steps did you take to investigate further?
I pleaded with the Spanish authorities. I showed them the evidence, but they dismissed my concerns. I was told to ‘take a step back and let them deal with it.’ I paid for a full autopsy in the UK, which proved inconclusive. We are just not getting the answers we deserve.
