The Latvian State Radio and Television Center (LVRTC) is making a important change in how its eSignature apps function on mobile devices. Starting February 1st, users will need to be running the latest versions of Android and iOS to access the full functionality of “Epemas mobile,” “Eparakstslv,” and “Eid Scan.”
This means that anyone still using Android 8 or iOS 13 or older will be able to keep using existing versions, but they’ll miss out on new features and security updates. LVRTC says that less than 1% of users are currently on these older operating systems, making this shift a logical one.
“Citizens who are currently using Android 8 and iOS 13 or older versions of the operating system will be able to use existing app versions but will not be able to update the apps to the latest versions,” LVRTC stated.
This decision highlights the growing importance of software updates for ensuring security, stability, and optimal performance. LVRTC’s focus on modernization aligns with the industry trend towards providing users with the most up-to-date and secure digital experiences.
Beyond these mobile developments, LVRTC continues to thrive in its core operations. The company reported a substantial 2.3% increase in turnover, reaching EUR 25,788 million in 2023.Furthermore, profits soared by 2.9 times, reaching EUR 16,314 million.
