Further investigation is underway. Out of 25 cerebrospinal fluid samples analyzed, one case tested positive for Epstein-Barr virus. Meanwhile, 200 blood samples have been tested and ruled out Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya.

The authorities haven’t overlooked the role of the environment. Water sources across the city have been tested, with 144 samples sent for chemical and biological analysis at the Public health Laboratory. Eight water sources were found contaminated, suggesting a possible environmental factor contributing to the potential outbreak.
