The Gooris family is back for another adventure, this time trading snow for sunshine as they embark on a journey through the vibrant landscapes of Australia. This destination, chosen personally by Kelley Pfaff, holds a special place in her heart. “The men wanted to go to Japan last year, which became season three,” she shared. “This year the women had the choice, and I suggested Australia.” Her connection to the country dates back to 1998, when she spent over six months working there. “The plan was to return,” she reminisces, “but a car accident in Belgium changed everything. During my rehabilitation I met Sam, and after that a move was no longer discussed. For the same money I would have stayed in Australia.” This trip offered a chance to reconnect with a meaningful chapter in her life.
A Question Mark Hangs Over the Future
While the latest season promises exciting visuals and family bonding, a shadow of uncertainty hangs over the future of Expedition Gooris. Pfaff has stated, “I had asked the kids to take four family vacations together, but now that Shania has graduated and will soon find a job, it…” This statement leaves viewers wondering if this could be the last time the Gooris family graces our screens together as they navigate the challenges and triumphs of family life on television.
Kelly Gooris Reflects on a Journey of Family, Adventure, and Growth
The Gooris family has captivated audiences for four seasons with their heartwarming adventures on ”Expeditie Gooris.” This latest season saw them embark on a journey to Australia, a country deeply personal to Kelly. “The men wanted to go to Japan last year, which became season three. This year, the women got to choose, and I suggested Australia,” Kelly explains. Her connection to the land dates back to 1998, when she spent over six months there for work. “The plan was to return, but a car accident in Belgium changed everything,” she shares. “During my recovery, I met Sam, and moving back to Australia was no longer an option.Ironically, I might have stayed there if the accident hadn’t happened.”
This Australian adventure offered Kelly a chance to reconnect with a significant period of her life, a poignant backdrop to the family’s shared experience.
Though, this season seems to mark a pause for “Expeditie Gooris.” “I asked the kids to do four family vacations together, but with Shania graduating and soon starting her career, it will be more challenging to plan such a trip,” Kelly admits. “For now, this is our last season.”
While there are no immediate plans for a new destination, it appears the Gooris family is taking a break from television adventures for the time being. Fans may have to say goodbye to the beloved show for a while, but the memories of their journeys will undoubtedly endure.

Interview Title: Kelly Gooris on ‘Expedition Gooris’: A Journey down Under and the Future Ahead
Interviewer: Welcome, Kelly! We’re thrilled to have you with us today to discuss the latest season of ‘Expedition Gooris.’
Kelly Gooris: Thank you, its great to be here.
Interviewer: Let’s dive right in. This season, the Gooris family traded snow for sunshine, embarking on an adventure through the vibrant landscapes of Australia. What made you choose Australia for this season?
Kelly: well, the choice was ours this time. The men had picked japan for season three. For this season, the women got to decide, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Australia.Back in 1998, I spent over six months working there, and it was a life-changing experiance. I was planning to return one day, but life had other plans—like meeting Sam and starting a family. So, when the prospect arose to visit Australia with my family, I jumped at it.
Interviewer: that must have been a fantastic way to reconnect with a significant chapter of your life. How was the experience with the whole family?
Kelly: It was truly magical. Australia offers such a diverse range of landscapes and experiences. We went from the bustling streets of Sydney to the serene beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Seeing Australia through the eyes of my kids was astounding, and the memories we made will stay with us forever.
Interviewer: The visuals this season are certainly stunning. But there’s also a sense of uncertainty hanging over the future of ‘Expedition Gooris.’ You mentioned that this trip was one of four family vacations you planned. Now that Shania has graduated, could this be the last season with the Gooris family together?
Kelly: (Sighs) I’ve been very open about that. The plan was to take four vacations together, but with Shania now graduated and starting her career, things are changing. Our family dynamics are evolving, and we’ll have to see how it goes from here. I hope we can continue our adventures together, but it might look different going forward.
Interviewer: Understanding your family’s evolution is something many viewers can relate to. Speaking of changes, you’ve mentioned in the past how ‘Expedition Gooris’ has been a journey of growth for you and your family. Can you share a moment from this season that illustrates that growth?
Kelly: There was a moment when we were camping in the Outback, and we had a flat tire. It was dark, and we were isolated, and I could feel the panic starting to rise. But Sam and the kids took charge, and we worked together to fix the tire. In that moment,I saw how much we’ve all grown and how capable we are when we support each other.
Interviewer: that’s a powerful exmaple. Now, if this indeed proves to be the last season with the Gooris family together, what would you like viewers to take away from your journey?
Kelly: I hope they see the importance of creating moments and memories with your family, even—and sometimes especially—when you’re navigating challenges or changes. Our journeys might look different from season to season, but at the core, it’s about growing together and cherishing every moment.
Interviewer: Wise words,Kelly.Thank you so much for joining us today and sharing your family’s journey with our audience.
Kelly Gooris: Thank you for having me. It’s been a pleasure.
