Bollywood superstar Saif Ali khan was recently discharged from Lilavati Hospital after recovering from a knife attack in his Mumbai home. In a heartwarming turn of events, the actor personally met the auto-rickshaw driver who rushed him to the hospital, expressing his sincere gratitude for his swift action.
The incident occurred in the early hours of January 16th when Saif was stabbed multiple times inside his 12th-floor apartment in the upscale Bandra area. A Bangladeshi national named Mohammad Shariful Islam shehzad,who had illegally entered India and changed his name to Vijay das,was apprehended in Thane city and charged with the attack. Investigations suggest the incident was an attempt at robbery.
Saif Ali Khan, recovering swiftly, took time to meet the auto driver, Bhajan Singh Rana, before leaving the hospital.
“I met him (Saif) yesterday at the hospital. He called to thank me, to help him reach the hospital. He praised me. I got the blessings from him and his family,” Singh Rana shared with PTI.
“He (Saif) introduced me to his mother (Sharmila Tagore), and I touched her feet. He gave me whatever he felt was right, and said whenever I need help, he will be there,” Singh Rana added.
Speaking to ANI, Singh Rana expressed his gratitude for the experience, stating, “I felt happy to meet such a big star and his family, his mother praised me. I can’t blame him for not paying me when I took him to the hospital; how will anyone in such a situation. It would be okay if someone in that situation doesn’t even pay, you just want them to be safe.”
Saif’s quick recovery and gracious gesture towards his savior highlight the inherent goodness that transcends fame and fortune.

Bhajan Singh Rana: It was around 3 AM when a man, bleeding and in obvious pain, flagged me down. It was Saif Ali Khan. I could see he was in distress, so I rushed him to Lilavati hospital. I didn’t think twice about it, I just wanted to help.
Archyde: Had you recognized him promptly?
Bhajan Singh Rana: To be honest, I wasn’t sure at frist. His face was covered in blood. but once I heard him say, “I’m Saif Ali Khan,” I was taken aback. I told him, “Sir, don’t worry. You’re safe now.”
Archyde: Later, he met you at the hospital. How did that make you feel?
Bhajan Singh Rana: It was overwhelming. He thanked me profusely and even introduced me to his mother, Sharmila ji. I touched her feet as a sign of respect.It was a moment I’ll never forget.Saif also assured me that if I ever needed anything, I should not hesitate to reach out.
Archyde: What message do you hope others take from this story?
Bhajan Singh Rana: Fame and fortune don’t change who a person is at heart. Saif could have sent a doctor or a family member to thank me, but he chose to come himself.I think that says a lot about his character. And for me, I’m just grateful I could be there for him when he needed it most.
