Djurgården’s return too training after the holiday season marked the beginning of a flurry of activity as the club seeks to bolster its squad for the upcoming season. While sporting director Bosse Andersson has already secured the services of Hampus Finndell and extended Jacob Une Larsson’s contract, the hunt for new talent continues, with a particular focus on reinforcing the defensive line.
The club has made waves in the transfer market by agreeing to a SEK 11.5 million deal with KuPS for the highly promising 17-year-old midfielder Matias Siltanen. This acquisition, coupled with a lucrative bonus structure and a resale clause, suggests a long-term investment in the rising star.
However, the priority for Andersson appears to be securing a new center-back. Jani Honkavaara, Djurgården’s manager, has publicly acknowledged the need for defensive reinforcements, stating, “We are working on it and talking about what options we have. It’s about taking into account the number of foreign players in the squad, so that’s something that sets it up.”
Honkavaara emphasized the limited options available due to the club’s current foreign player quota, admitting, “this means that the options are somewhat limited, but we talk about it internally. It’s tricky now that we only have Tenho and Une Larsson available.”
Indeed, rumors have swirled about a potential move for KuPS defender ibrahim Cissé, a player Honkavaara previously worked with. However, concerns surrounding the club’s foreign player quota appear to have shifted their focus elsewhere.
According to reports, Djurgården has even met with Västerås SK’s Mikael Marques, adding the Swedish central defender to their list of potential targets. While the club initially seemed interested, their pursuit of Marques has reportedly cooled down recently, leaving the future uncertain for the Swedish defender.
Whether Djurgården ultimately decides to sign Marques or explore other options remains to be seen. One thing is clear – the club is actively working to strengthen its defensive core ahead of the new season.
Yannick Adjoumani’s Allsvenskan Move Faces Hurdles
Degerfors IF is pushing hard to secure the signing of Östersunds FK forward Yannick Adjoumani, 22, this winter. However, Sporting Director Patrik Werner might encounter a tough obstacle in securing the young talent.
Talks between the clubs have reportedly stalled due to Östersund’s reluctance to part ways with Adjoumani, who they consider a vital player for their squad. Moreover, sources indicate that Östersund had previously promised Adjoumani a transfer this winter, raising questions about their current stance and whether this promising Allsvenskan move will materialize.
Chovanie Amatkarijo’s Future at GAIS Uncertain
A year ago, striker Chovanie Amatkarijo expressed excitement about joining GAIS in the summer of 2023, having made the move from Croatian club NK Astra. He stated, “It feels great to be back in Sweden and get a new challenge. I like the people in Sweden, and the people I have met in GAIS so far seem very nice. But I don’t know much about GAIS except that we met when I was in Östersund.”
Amatkarijo scored in 25 matches last season. Now, speculation suggests a possible departure is on the horizon. While specifics about potential suitors or the seriousness of any interest remain unclear, word on the street hints that both GAIS and Amatkarijo are open to exploring other opportunities if a beneficial situation arises.
Amar Dzevlan Set for Hammarby Return
Amar Dzevlan could be returning to Hammarby IF, marking a potential comeback for the 21-year-old goalkeeper.
Dzevlan’s previous stint with Hammarby ended in 2019 when he was acquired by Eintracht Frankfurt at the young age of 16. Following his time abroad, which included a youth professional period with Real Betis, he returned to Sweden, playing for Qviding and Örebro Syrianska after being signed from ÖSK in August 2023.
Now, according to sources, Dzevlan is in the final stages of negotiations with Hammarby, where he could secure a spot as one of three goalkeepers in the Hammarby TFF setup. Discussions have also arisen regarding the possibility of Dzevlan training with the A team, although the ultimate outcome of the talks remains uncertain.
The Transfer Market Heats Up: Young Striker Joins Östersunds FK
The transfer window is in full swing, and teams are making moves to strengthen their squads. One of the latest deals sees promising young striker Edgar Sarkis Navassardian joining Östersunds FK from Örebro Syrianska.
Navassardian, born in 2004, has a strong pedigree, having trained at the renowned Malmö FF academy and BK Olympic. Last season, playing in Ettan Norra, he showcased his scoring prowess, netting 13 goals and providing one assist in 28 appearances. This extraordinary form has clearly caught the eye of Östersunds FK, who are confident he can make a significant impact.
A source close to the deal revealed, “as I understand it, the deal must be done and the parties agree on a contract. It’s just a matter of time before it becomes official.” Fans are eagerly anticipating Navassardian’s arrival and the exciting potential he brings to the team.
