Archyde: Iga, you’ve been absolutely dominating the 2023 Australian Open. You’re only 19, but you’re already etching your name into the tournament’s history. How does it feel?
Iga Swiatek: It’s quite overwhelming, to be honest.I’ve worked hard to get here, and to see the results of that hard work on a stage this big is truly surreal. I’m just trying to take it all in and enjoy the moment.
Archyde: you’ve only conceded 14 games in your first five matches. That’s an incredible feat, even overshadowing Maria Sharapova’s nine-game run in 2013. What’s your secret?
Iga Swiatek: (Laughs) I wouldn’t say there’s a secret, really. I’ve just been focusing on my game, one point at a time. I’ve been working a lot on my consistency and precision,and it seems to be paying off. Also, my team has been incredible, supporting me every step of the way.
