Hollywood action star Jeremy Renner has decided to part wiht his stylish Midcentury Modern home in Los Angeles. The actor, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Avengers franchise, purchased the property in 2012 for US$4 million and invested approximately US$5.5 million in renovations, transforming it into a sprawling 9,000-square-foot residence.
The single-story haven boasts six bedrooms and a collection of high-end amenities, including a screening room, a music studio, and an open-plan living room complete with a bar.The home is also a showcase of lasting living, featuring a refined solar energy system that covers 90% of its power needs.
Renner, who has a knack for real estate, nearly doubled the size of the original house while maintaining its charming Midcentury character. He shared his love for the property’s unique community, saying, “You typically don’t get a lot of neighborly love in Los Angeles,” he told the WSJ. “This was a wonderful little micro-community.”
The property played a pivotal role in Renner’s recovery following his near-fatal snowplow accident in January 2023. As he explained, “I spent much of the accident’s aftermath in the single-story L.A. house because it didn’t require climbing stairs,” rendering it a safe and comfortable haven during his rehabilitation.
Now, as Renner focuses on new projects and his ongoing recovery, he’s ready to move on, saying, “I need to kind of move on to other things. I did all that stuff because I was going to stay there.It was kind of a forever home.”
The sale, finalized by real estate brokerage The Beverly Hills Estates, marks a new chapter for the acclaimed actor as he navigates life after his remarkable comeback. Renner is currently working on a book about his experience overcoming the accident and recently wrapped filming on the latest season of “Mayor of Kingstown.”

It features a stunning swimming pool, surrounded by lush landscaping and numerous seating areas for relaxing or hosting al fresco Dinner parties. There’s also a built-in BBQ area with an outdoor kitchen, perfect for those sunny California afternoons.
Archyde: Renner has reportedly invested around $5.5 million in renovations.What kind of return on investment can we expect for a property like this?
entangica Montenegro: Given the location, size, and luxurious finishes, not to mention the celebrity connection, it’s likely that the home will sell well above its current asking price. With properties in this area and of this caliber, we frequently enough see returns exceeding 100% of the original purchase price, especially when they’ve been meticulously cared for and updated as this one has.
