What are some of the unique features or additions planned for Uncorked LA’s 10th anniversary celebration?
Archyde News: An Interview with Samantha “Sam” Roberts, Event Organizer of Uncorked LA
Archyde News (AN): Welcome, Sam, thank you for taking the time to speak with us today. Uncorked LA is gearing up for its 10th anniversary. How does it feel to be celebrating a decade of wine and good times?
Sam Roberts (SR):Thank you for having me. It’s truly an exciting time. Ten years ago, we started Uncorked LA with a simple goal – to bring together wine lovers and create an unforgettable experience. To see it grow into a beloved event that it is today is just amazing. We’re thrilled to be celebrating this milestone.
AN: This year’s event promises to be extraordinary, with over 100 unique wines from California and beyond. Can you tell us more about the curation process?
SR: Absolutely. We work with sommeliers and wine industry professionals to curate a diverse selection that caters to every palate. We want attendees to explore new wines, discover regional varieties, and maybe even learn a thing or two. Each year, we strive to have a perfect balance of familiarity and discovery.
AN: Inclusivity is a big part of this year’s event, with the introduction of the Zero-Proof Lounge. What inspired this addition?
SR: Inclusivity has always been critically important to us, but we wanted to do more to ensure everyone feels welcome and can participate fully. We realized that while many of our guests enjoy wine, not everyone drinks alcohol. By offering a dedicated space with non-alcoholic options, we’re providing an outlet for guests who prefer not to drink, or who may have other considerations, to still enjoy the event.
AN: The Zero-Proof Lounge will feature non-alcoholic wines and mocktails. How did you select the offerings?
SR: We wanted to provide options that still deliver on taste and experience, without the alcohol. We’ve partnered with some fantastic producers of non-alcoholic wines and worked with mixologists to create unique, delicious mocktails. The response from our tasting panel has been overwhelmingly positive – they’re not just ‘zeros,’ they’re fantastic beverages in their own right.
AN: Uncorked LA is more than just a wine tasting event. It’s a celebration. What can attendees expect this year?
SR: They can expect a fantastic evening celebrating all things wine, with live music, delicious food, and of course, plenty of wine and non-alcoholic options to taste. We’ve also got some surprises planned to mark our 10th anniversary, including a few throwbacks to our first event. It’s going to be a fantastic party!
AN: Thank you, Sam, for giving us a sneak peek into Uncorked LA’s 10th anniversary. Here’s to another decade!
SR: thank you! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone on January 25th. Cheers, to wine, and to inclusivity!
