Nick Oliveri (NO): thanks for having me! We’re absolutely stoked to be playing in Dublin, and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham is such an incredible venue. It’s going to be a thrilling experience to blend our desert rock sound with the rich history of the place. We can’t wait to feels the energy from the Irish crowd.
A: Your latest album, ‘Dreams on Toast’, is highly anticipated. Can you give us any hints about what fans can expect?
NO: Well, I don’t want to give too much away, but I can tell you that ‘Dreams on Toast’ is a journey through our collective experiences over the past few years. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s got that classic QOTSA feel – heavy, psychedelic, and full of surprises. Josh [Homme] really outdid himself with the production, and I think fans are going to be blown away.
A: You’ll be joined by amyl and The Sniffers and so Good at the Dublin show. What do those acts bring to the table?
NO:damn, I’m not sure yet. I haven’t heard of them, but I’m always open to discovering new music. Hopefully, they’ll bring something fresh and unexpected to the lineup. We’re fans of checking out new bands, so it’ll be a fun experience either way.
A: After all these years, what keeps Queens of the Stone Age going? What’s the secret to maintaining your unique sound and keeping fans engaged?
NO: I think it’s a combination of things – our love for music, our willingness to take risks and experiment, and our dedication to staying true to ourselves. We’ve never been about chasing trends or fitting into a mold. we make the music we want to make, and if people dig it, that’s just icing on the cake. Plus, the energy we feed off when we’re on stage, especially in front of passionate crowds like the ones in Dublin – that never gets old.
