DARK CHAPEL’s debut album, “Spirit In The Glass,” is set to release on February 28, 2025, via MNRK Heavy. Lorina’s musical journey is a testament to his dedication and talent. His professional career began at the tender age of 16 as a touring guitarist for the late Jani Lane (ex-WARRANT). He later joined veteran metal act Lizzy Borden for four years. As January 1, 2014, he’s been an integral part of BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, touring globally alongside guitar virtuoso Zakk Wylde, contributing guitar, piano, and backing vocals. He even engaged in electrifying dual guitar solos with Wylde on BLACK LABEL SOCIETY’s 2022 album, “Doom Crew Inc.,” and graced the cover of Guitar World magazine alongside Wylde in January 2022.

“The guitar never really left my hands,” he recalls with a chuckle. Years of dedicated practice culminated in his work with DARK CHAPEL. The band’s debut album, “Spirit In The Glass,” marks a bold new chapter in Lorina’s career, showcasing his talent and passion in a powerful new light.

What inspired Dario Lorina to start Dark Chapel?

Archyde: Welcome, Dario. Your latest single “Hollow Smile” has been making quite an impact. What inspired you to start dark chapel, and what drove you to step into the role of lead vocalist?

Dario Lorina: Thanks for having me. Dark Chapel was born out of a desire to express my full creative vision without boundaries.I’ve been a guitarist for most of my career,but I’ve always written melodies and lyrics. Stepping into the vocal role was a scary but necessary step. I found myself writing songs that demanded my voice, so I embraced the challenge. It’s been a liberating experience.

Archyde: “Hollow Smile” is a intense exploration of the human psyche. Can you tell us more about the song’s theme and your approach to creating such a raw, emotional track?

Lorina: Absolutely. “Hollow Smile” is about the inner battles we all face,the masks we wear,and the coping mechanisms we use to deal with our demons. I wanted to create something raw, honest, and real. Musically, I drew from my influences – thrash, melodic metal, and blues – to create a sonic landscape that reflects the song’s dark intensity.

Archyde: The music video for “Hollow Smile,” directed by Justin H. Reich, is both terrifying and gorgeous. What was it like working with him, and how did you envision the visuals for the song?

Lorina: Working with Justin was a fantastic experience. I gave him creative freedom to interpret the song visually,and he nailed it. I wanted the video to be as haunting and raw as the song itself. Justin understood that and brought his unique vision to life in a way that truly enhances the track’s impact.
