Flu Cases Surge in Romania: Health Authorities Issue Warning

In Dâmbovița County, the situation is notably concerning.Hospitals are reporting a surge in patients, with the Emergency Department of Găesti Hospital treating over 1,405 patients since the start of the year. Many of these cases involve seasonal respiratory illnesses, with a notable uptick in children requiring care. In just the past two days, 24 children were admitted with flu-like symptoms.
Alexandra Pavel, the hospital’s manager, emphasized the gravity of the situation. “The cold season has already brought a large number of patients, and in recent days we have noticed an increase in cases among children. We urge parents to pay attention to their children’s symptoms and not hesitate to consult a doctor if they persist,” she stated.
The influx of patients is straining medical resources, and healthcare professionals are working tirelessly to manage the crisis.
