The McLaren Formula 1 driver acquired the Ferrari F40 in the summer of 2024 after a visit to a Ferrari dealership. the iconic vehicle, valued at over $2.5 million, is one of just 1,311 ever produced between 1987 and 1992. Norris had been seen driving the car around Monte Carlo in December 2024, even using it for his Christmas shopping.
The crash occurred on the winding mountain roads near Monaco. According to the video, an unidentified driver lost control of the car while exiting a left-hand bend. Despite dry conditions, the rear end of the F40 slid out, sending the vehicle spinning backward into the barriers. The damage from the impact matched the earlier sightings of the bumper damage.
Fortunately,the car remained driveable,as the driver was able to pull over instantly after the incident. However, given the rarity of the Ferrari F40 and its components, repairs are expected to be costly, perhaps impacting Norris’ insurance premiums.

While the Monaco incident is concerning, it pales in comparison to another Ferrari F40 crash that occurred in the UK around the same time. This second incident involved a technician who was reportedly test-driving the car after maintenance.
In wet conditions,the F40 lost control on a straight road near Hertfordshire. The car spun across the opposite lane, hit a verge, and rolled into a lamppost. The damage was severe, raising questions about weather the vehicle can be repaired. The driver was hospitalized, tho their current condition remains unknown.
