Helena ružičková: Thank you for having me. The performing arts have always been a part of me. As a child, I was fascinated by the magic of the stage—the lights, the costumes, the stories. Ballet was my first love, and the National Theater was like a second home. It was ther that I realized I wanted to dedicate my life to the arts.
Archyde: You dreamed of attending DAMU,the Academy of Performing Arts,but that dream didn’t come to fruition. How did you cope with that setback?
Helena Ružičková: It was a challenging moment, there’s no doubt whatsoever. But I’ve always believed that life is about finding your path, even if it’s not the one you initially planned. I decided to study medicine and became a dental laboratory technician. It was a practical choice, but my heart never left the stage. Eventually,I found my way back to acting through the Drama Club,and that’s where everything changed.
Archyde: Your breakthrough role came in Revizor alongside Pavel Landovský.What was that experience like?
Helena Ružičková: Revizor was a turning point. Working with Pavel was unbelievable—he was such a talented and generous actor. The play was a huge success, and it opened many doors for me. It was the start of my rise in the theater world, and I’ll always be grateful for that chance.
