Interview with Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis Grizzlies Forward
By Archyde Sports Desk
Archyde: Jaren, thank you for joining us today. What a thrilling game against the Minnesota Timberwolves! Can you walk us through your mindset during that intense back-and-forth battle?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: Absolutely, and thanks for having me. It was one of those games where every possession mattered. We knew coming in that the Timberwolves were going to bring their A-game, and they did. My mindset was just to stay aggressive, trust my teammates, and make the right plays. It was a team effort, and we were able to pull it out in the end.
archyde: you had a phenomenal performance, scoring 33 points. What was working so well for you offensively?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: I think it was a combination of things. My teammates did a great job finding me in good spots, and I was able to get into a rhythm early. The Timberwolves are a tough defensive team, so I had to stay patient and take what the defense gave me.It’s always about staying confident and trusting the work I’ve put in.
Archyde: Ja Morant had a quieter night statistically but came up clutch in the final moments. What’s it like playing alongside someone who can deliver in those high-pressure situations?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: Ja’s a special player, man. Even when he’s not scoring a ton, he impacts the game in so many ways. That shot he hit with 18 seconds left? That’s just Ja being Ja.He’s got that killer instinct, and we all trust him to make the right play when it matters most. It’s a privilege to play alongside him.
Archyde: Desmond Bane also had a strong game with 21 points, including four three-pointers. How important is his shooting to the team’s success?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: Des is huge for us. His ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots opens up so much for the rest of us. Defenses have to respect his range, and that creates driving lanes for Ja and me. He’s been consistent all season, and we’re going to need him to keep it up as we push forward.
Archyde: On the other side, Donte DiVincenzo had a career night with 27 points. What challenges did he present defensively?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: Donte was tough. He was hitting shots from all over the floor and really kept them in the game. We tried to make adjustments, but he was in a zone. Credit to him—he played a great game.
Archyde: The Grizzlies have been on a roll lately. What’s the key to maintaining this momentum as the season progresses?
Jaren Jackson Jr.: It’s all about staying focused and taking it one game at a time. We’ve got a great group of guys who are locked in and willing to put in the work. If we keep playing together, defending, and trusting each other, I like our chances.
Archyde: Thanks for your time, Jaren. Best of luck in the rest of the season!
Jaren Jackson Jr.: Thank you! Go Grizzlies!
