Dear Bruins,

The ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles County have presented significant challenges for our community. Your safety and well-being remain our top priority as we continue to monitor the situation and adapt our plans accordingly.

To ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, the university has extended remote learning for all undergraduate and graduate courses through Friday, January 17. Campus operations will also remain adjusted during this period. Your instructors and supervisors will provide further guidance, and we deeply appreciate your understanding as we navigate these difficult circumstances.

for employees, remote work arrangements will continue next week, pending supervisor approval. We encourage supervisors to maintain adaptability in their approach to support their teams effectively.

Health care staff, including those in medical, dental, and nursing clinics, will receive specific updates directly from UCLA Health. Additionally, UCLA’s affiliated schools—Geffen Academy, UCLA Lab School, and Early Care and Education Programs—will communicate their operational plans to families. UCLA Extension will also continue its remote instruction model.
