on January 9, 2025, Thomas (Tom) O’Loughlin, a cherished member of the Kilkenny community, passed away peacefully at Drakelands House Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.A resident of 5 Clarnwood, Freshford Road, Kilkenny, and formerly of Loughrea, Co. Galway, Tom’s life was a stunning tapestry of love, family, and unwavering kindness.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Christy, his brother JJ, and his sister Bridie (Smyth). He leaves behind a legacy of love through his devoted wife, Breda, his sons Kieran and Conor, daughters Ann Marie and Niamh, and his adored grandchildren: Tom, Alex, Matthew, Alice, and Ciarán. He is also survived by his brother Christy (Loughrea), sisters Helen murphy (Templemore) and marie O’Donnell (Sligo), daughter-in-law Liz, sons-in-law Anthony and John, and a wide circle of extended family, friends, and neighbors who will forever cherish his warmth and generosity.

Tom’s family warmly invites friends and loved ones to pay their respects during the reposing at his home (R95 X63F) on Sunday, January 12, beginning at 4 pm. The evening will conclude with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7 pm. His funeral will be held on Monday, January 13, with removal to St. Canice’s Church,Kilkenny (R95 V440),for a Requiem Mass at 11 am. The funeral procession will then proceed to Foulkstown Cemetery, Kilkenny. The family kindly requests privacy on Monday morning.
